Housing professionals, local authorities, and care providers have the chance to learn about how they can deliver smarter and more effective housing adaptations at a free CPD-accredited event next month.

PROCare will host its next CPD and Product Learning Day at Ramside Hall Hotel, Durham, on 10 June 2025. Taking place from 9.30am to 3.30pm, interested delegates can secure their free tickets here.

Each CPD day offers hands-on access to new assistive technologies and product innovations, including wash-dry toilets, Bluetooth-enabled waste pumps, dementia-friendly flooring, and height-adjustable bathroom and kitchen solutions. The aim is to challenge outdated assumptions about accessible living and demonstrate the possibilities of universal design.

The event will be hosted by PROCare’s regional representative, Rachel Ellis, who is looking forward to welcoming attendees from across the northeast. The day will include practical demonstrations and discussions around innovative solutions from PROCare and partner manufacturers.

“We’re really excited to bring this event to Durham,” said Rachel. “It’s a chance for local authorities and professionals to see what’s possible when we rethink how we approach adaptations. It’s not just about products; it’s about improving quality of life for the people who live with them every day.”

The event forms part of a wider programme designed to support housing professionals in delivering smarter, more effective adaptations. PROCare says it is currently working with local authorities across the UK to reduce waiting lists, accelerate the delivery of Disabled Facilities Grant-funded works, and improve resident outcomes.

The Durham event follows the PROCare CPD and Product Learning Day held earlier this year in Southampton, which brought together professionals from across the south to explore the latest advancements in accessible design. Positive feedback from the event highlighted a clear appetite for innovation and a shared determination to move away from clinical, box-ticking approaches, according to the firm.

One attendee summed it up: “Actually getting to speak to the suppliers of the products and understanding our situations that we can apply difficult issues, and they give us the solutions… it’s invaluable.”

PROCare recently won the 2025 Northern Housing Awards for Best Resident Safety Initiative. The award highlights the company’s commitment to working in partnership with housing providers, local authorities, and care professionals to tackle the UK’s lack of accessible homes.
