Webinar for HCPs will address increasing activity levels in children at risk of sedentary lifestyles

Jenx has announced that its next free webinar for healthcare professionals will discuss the strategies for increasing active time in two paediatric populations that are often more at risk of being sedentary in their daily lives.

The webinar, ‘Move to Thrive’ will take a look at increasing activity levels in children at risk of sedentary lifestyles and will be hosted by Jenx with guest host Hannah Spink, specialist PT and Clinical Director of Bumble Bee Physio, on 15 July from 9am BST.

During the webinar, the two paediatric populations Hannah will discuss are infants developing their skills from birth or at risk of motor delay, and older children with more severe motor impairment, and typically requiring postural care approaches.

Hannah has worked with children for over 20 years. Since qualifying, Hannah has worked with children in six special schools, an outpatient clinic, and an inpatient children’s ward. She finished her NHS career as a lead consultant physiotherapist for children with complex disabilities, before starting Bumble Bee Physio in February 2019.

Hannah has treated over 40 children with Rett Syndrome and looks forward to running a physiotherapy clinic at the Rett UK conference early this year. She has a strong interest in contractures, deformities and scoliosis, and preventing these with active movement from an early age.

There will be an interactive Q&A session after the webinar for attendees to submit questions to Hannah directly, followed by a 30-minute demo of the Jenx Multistander, Therapy Wedge and Ziggy.

Interested attendees can register on the Jenx website. Once registered, attendees will receive an email before the webinar with all the joining instructions.

In a recent case study, Jenx discusses how its Supine Stander 3 has helped 11-year-old Zain easily socialise at eye-level with his peers, give his mum a standing a cuddle for the first time, and go from a horizontal to standing position in seconds.
