Abstract :
In the Defense Modeling and Simulation (DM&S) field, a lot of models have been developed and introduced with various simulation levels, and the battle experimentation has been performed with the models. With the battle experimentation, we can propose a new doctrine by analyzing the exist doctrine and provide insights for deriving a ROC (Required the Operational Capability). However, the derived results with the limited experiment of particular simulation level are limited in the simulation level. To overcome the limitation, we propose the battle experimentation framework via simulation interoperation. As the models of each simulation levels are each other interoperated, we can derive an insight and alternative that a standalone model experiment cannot derive. Nevertheless it is possible that a developer modifies and complements a model, it is inefficient at the aspects of time and cost. In this paper, the proposed framework is enabled to apply the exist models. The models to apply in this paper are the engagement level and mission level models, the models were independently developed at different times with different purposes. Through the proposed battle experimentation framework, we perform the simulation interoperation of two models. With the standalone and interoperation experiment results, we compare and analyze the results. Through the comparison and analysis, we demonstrate to find a new insight and alternative with our framework. We expect that our work will provide a new battle experiment methodology for battle experiments by extending the limitation of standalone experiment with single model.
